HiFi streaming audio arrives to iPhone. It is now possible to stream high fidelity audio over cellular EDGE/3GPP and Internet networks to compete with other audio delivery services such as Satellite, HD Radio, and Apple iTunes downloads. In many cases, it is even possible to surpass their quality by using more advanced xHE-AAC and ALAC audio codecs. This raises the bar for streaming audio quality.

You can listen to KFREE on your Amazon smart speaker by downloading the KFREE Digital Radio skill for free from the Amazon Alexa Skills & Games store. The best of Amazon's smart speaker lineup are the Echo Studio and Echo Plus, and are recommended for the highest quality listening experience.
Use the link below to download the skill and enable it. Then, just say "Alexa, play K Free Digital Radio."
Audio encoded with FLAC, when decoded, is digitally to identical the original audio source. There is no data loss, and hence no audio quality loss. For example, when you zip a word document, the file is smaller but once unzipped, the original file is restored. The process is called lossless compression. On the other hand, an image saved as JPEG loses its information or quality based on the percentage of quality chosen. The poorer the quality (10%), the smaller the file. The better the quality (80% and above), the larger the file size. This is considered lossy compression. JPEG is a lossy codec by nature, even saved at 100% quality.
iOS plays our megabit stream natively. This allows TrueHD quality. Touch the button below from your device.
NOTE: Use caution if you connect with a limited cellular data plan. Megabit means the stream runs around 1Mbps (1000Kbps).
The StreamS HiFi Radio player is our top recommendation for listening on your Apple phone or tablet. Our directory-listed 48kbps xHE-AAC stream is optimized for 4G LTE, 5G and Bluetooth to provide a listening experience in the car like that of FM radio. You can also put the following URLs into the player's 'Enter URL' feature:
18kb [Mono Auxiliary]: https://freewaav.com/HLS24/18k/program.m3u8
96kb [High Quality xHE-AAC]: https://freewaav.com/HLS51/96k/program.m3u8
~1mb [TrueHD Quality ALAC]: https://freewaav.com/HLS24/FLAC/program.m3u8
The StreamS player also handles cell service dead zones or 'nulls' very gracefully, meaning fewer interruptions in areas of spotty service. The player's $4.99 one-time price is an excellent value and your ears will thank you!
